 Split beaches

If you're spending your holidays in Split, away from the energetic old town are inviting bays and pebble beaches that are perfect for a cooling swim.

Split has a very impressing number of beaches to enjoy.

Jezinac is a beautiful pebble beach located on the south side of Marjan. Jezinac is a quiet and clean beach with showers, changing rooms and concrete tables in the shadow where you can sit and play board games, cards or read.

Split's busiest beach, Bacvice, in part owes its popularity to a central location and proximity to the entertainment complex. This long, sandy shallow beach is especially suitable for children, but adults can also have fun with “picigin”, a sport which was created on Bacvice and where the world championship is held. This is the main town beach and it is visited by a large number of bathers, which are watched over by beach rescuers. Access is also enabled to people with disabilities. It is a beach that year after year is named BLUE FLAG by the European Community for its cleanliness, and services offered.

Another important beach in Split is Kasuni beach, a pebble sand beach situated on the south side of the mount Marjan which is a symbol of the city of Split. This strip of coast is bordered by a pine forest and the sea is as blue as you'll ever see. On Kasuni beach there is a coffee bar with public toilets

If you want to get there, you can catch a bus (at bus station on Riva, bus number 12) or you take a 20 minute walk by the sea side.

Further on is tranquil Bene beach, also placed on Marjan in the center of beautiful green oasis. Bene is a beautiful beach which is accessible only by foot, as the passage of cars is prohibited.  With a lot of shade and shallow water with sandy bottom the beach is suitable both for kids and adults. In the shade there are tennis and soccer courts, pony rides and a playground plus picnic facilities and a cafe- bar-restaurant.

The newest of Split beaches is Znjan, that consists of several bays. The beach is partly pebble and partly concrete. Znjan is the favorite beach for the water sports lovers. Next to the beach, there are several bars, so bathers can freshen up with a cold drink of cool under a parasol. Znjan is placed southwards from Bacvice, but you can take a bus, number 15 on the station “Prima Grad”

Kastelet is a beautiful beach placed on the south side of the Marjan. It’s a gravel beach popular among the locals, especially the young people. The lack of natural shade is perfectly replaced with cafes offering cool drinks.

The beach Trstenik is located east of the city of Split. The beach is covered with gravel and with its shallow ramp it is perfect for all ages and swimming groups. The beach has showers and changing rooms. There can also be rented deck chairs.

The lack of natural shade is perfectly replaced with the bars and cafes offering cool drinks.
